TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

NeuroInDx, Inc (NDX) is developing cost-efficient technology/instrumentation for tissue microdissection and collection of individual cells for single cell analysis.  Currently, we are looking for Technical Sales Representative to market, sell, and promote NDX products to existing and prospective clients to build a strong customer base nationwide and to increase net revenues. We are seeking enthusiastic and ambitious candidates with excellent organizational skills, the ability to learn quickly, and willingness to work in high-pressure settings. 

A successful candidate must have a strong background in molecular biology techniques with an emphasis on cell and tissue specific analysis.  The candidate will be involved in the propagation of current and new product to customers in the U.S. to develop nationwide sales network. The candidate will be trained to become proficient with the instruments and their applications. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of cell and tissue acquisition technologies and applications.
  • Participate in the development of correspondence, booklets, brochures, manuals, and other marketing material for distribution.
  • Develop a list of prospective customers to schedule appointments.
  • Follow up sales leads generated from trade shows, marketing campaigns, website and other sources.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on established and prospective customers to create demand for laboratory instrumentation. This activity includes both personal visits and contact by phone.
  • Provide product demo and application training to customers as necessary.
  • Present at road show type events, attend and present at conferences and meetings.
  • Emphasize instrument features based on analyses of customers’ needs and laboratory capabilities and limitations.
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements.
  • Maintain customer records.
  • Install and train customers on the use of NDX products.
  • Utilize competitive information and product knowledge to increase market penetration by positioning of products.
  • Must be comfortable speaking to groups of customers and industry professionals to promote the company’s products and technologies.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Strong fundamental understanding of key aspects related to single cell collection, tissue microdissection and related applications (instrumentation, workflow, reagents, experimental design)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills to present products at demos, trade shows and conferences.
  • Ability to properly identify and prioritize client issues and sales opportunities
  • Ability to present high level information for multiple audiences, including scientists and laymen
  • Ability to operate effectively, both independently and with diverse professionals in a team
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel, overtime and weekend work may be required occasionally.

Required Experience:

  • 2 + years hands on lab experience combined with sales or direct customer interaction
  • Experience in creating and distributing technical information and materials to external audiences.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration and sales techniques.

Education:

  • BS/BA Life Science; MS preferred

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Extra hours and/or weekend work may be required to meet business demands.

NDX provides base salary and commission.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT STEP I

Currently we are seeking a laboratory technician to assist in R&D and product development.  A Research Assistant step I will be responsible for cell culture media preparation, cell expansion, collection of individual cells, tissue microdissection, RNA and protein isolation, and equipment and instrument maintenance. He/she will also be responsible for the following: plan and execute experiments, analyze experimental data, and carefully document results. A Research Assistant will be involved in protocol development and participate in other laboratory activities to support product development. Knowledge and experience with tissue handling, cell cultures and RNA isolation are prerequisite.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
– Cell cultures;
– Sample preparation (RNA, DNA and protein isolation);
– Lab management (e.g. maintain laboratory, monitor lab equipment, inventory and order supplies)
– Assist in the development of standard operating procedures;
– Assist in the writing, reviewing and editing technical reports;
– Participate in product testing;
– Perform chemical and biological assays;
– Special projects as assigned Qualifications:
– B.S. in Biological sciences or related discipline
– Basic laboratory skills and at least 1 year of the laboratory experience
– Previous experience with cell culture work
– Must have strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and strong problem solving skills
– Excellent written and documentation skills
– Ability to work well independently as well as in a group environment
– Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail, and successfully execute experiments at the bench
– Highly organized
– Ability to think critically, and demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills
– Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel, Adobe
